Features

Stage V engine

ENGINE

The JCB 5CX PRO offers exclusively the EcoMax Stage V engine configuration that has been widely acclaimed for a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and particulates. Also, we have empirical evidence from the JCB Live Link telemetry system that this model in many applications is averaging under 6 litres of fuel per hour which offers an extraordinary cost saving over the life of the machine that simple cannot be rivalled by any competitors. To prevent any movement from the Loader or backhoe the hydraulic controls are neutralised and cannot be activated with the engine started until the operator has acknowledge the functions.

TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE

The 5CX PRO exclusively offers a 6-speed auto Powershift transmission with a patented lock up torque converter offering exceptional loader and roading characteristics and reduce fuel burn. The front and rear axles feature auto locking limited slip fitted as standard equipment offering exceptional tractability.
The Smooth Ride System (SRS) is fitted as standard equipment. The Smooth Ride System consists of a dry nitrogen and oil filled accumulator installed in line with the loader lift cylinders. When activated, the SRS allows the loader arms to float. This action counteracts variations in road or site surfaces and provides the operator with a smoother and more comfortable ride. The JCB SRS manually controlled, via a rocker switch on the instrument panel, for maximum benefit and user flexibility.
 

STEERING & BRAKING

The JCB class leading hydraulic power brakes system is fitted as standard and ensures low effort, effective, fade-free braking and the deletion of the master cylinder eliminating the requirement to service and maintain. The self-adjusting, multi-disc arrangement is inboard mounted and is oil immersed for minimum maintenance and a long operating life.
The 5CX has full power hydrostatic steering system utilising the main hydraulic pump via a steering priority valve. In the event of engine failure, emergency steering is maintained. Four equal size wheels with three steering modes which can be activated on the run including front wheel steering, four-wheel steering and crab steer. Steer modes can be selected via the three-position rotary switch on the front dashboard.

EXCAVATOR

The 5CX PRO has a max dig depth of 6.14m. It also offers Hydraulic side shift which JCB pioneered the introduction of in 1999. The JCB system exclusively offers sacrificial wear pads between the king post and slide rails. Furthermore, the hydraulic ram mechanism is located behind the kingpost and does not obstruct the operators view.

HYDRAULICS

The Hydraulic system is a closed centre variable displacement pump with a max flow of 165lpm. The Auxiliary hydraulic lines are a standard factory fit for bidirectional and single directional flow. All of these can be activated from the left-hand joystick. The pilot controls can be easily isolated by a 3-way switch with visual alerts indicating whether the hydraulic system is activated or isolated. To protect all the hydraulic lines JCB have run the lines internally on the boom and dipper to reduce damage. (Except the auxiliary lines) would not mention this.

CAB

New 7” LCD Display Screen
The new 7″ colour display is standard and makes monitoring information simple and fast. The screen provides the operator with far greater information and increases functionality and gives relevant information in a quick and easy manner.
This display screen is controlled using a rotary switch which allows the display to be quickly toggled through the menus to access the following menus:

The main functions of the side display can be
accessed in the push of a finger and can be
easily reached to the Operator’s right-hand side.
New Factory Installed Bluetooth Radio

For the first time, a factory installed radio is available and will be standard on all models.
The radio features Bluetooth telephone and music capability for hands free operation and

USB (Universal Serial Bus), AUX and SD card capability.

Integrated to the front headliner above the Operator’s head, it is out of the way to damage

and still within easy reach, and for enhanced ease of use can also be controlled through the rotary encoder located on the side console, no matter which way the Operator’s seat is facing.
The new 5CX PRO Auto introduces a wider range of advanced automation features designed to reduce operator fatigue through less manual operations and movement, increase productivity by cutting cycle times and improve fuel efficiency.
The in-cab air conditioning system on the 3CX Backhoe has excellent capabilities with velocity air flow through 14 individual vents. The cab offers great storage with a large box in cab and also storage behind the operator’s seat.
The 5CX PRO has a fully adjustable heated cloth air suspension seat with lumbar support and 180-degree operation. With exclusive in seat service hydraulic controls unlike our competitors the JCB servo System turns with the seat offering full 180-degree operation of the backhoe. The 3CX features multifunction servo controls for both the loader & backhoe. To enable operators to feel right at home in the 3CX, we fit a traditional manual control system as standard with switchable ISO/SAE control patterns.
The JCB Backhoe can be optionally fitted with an Auto lock quick hitch with proximity sensor and two stage unlock process. Furthermore, the 3CX PLUS & PRO have excellent braking performance achieve with class leading hydraulically boosted brakes which offers car like pedal effort, this is also backed by an accumulator in the case of an engine failure offering full power assistance in this instance.
